One of two children, Richard Karn Wilson was born Feb 17, 1956 to Gene & Louise in Seattle, Washington
(his sister's name is Sue). His first acting experience was
in a fifth grade play. His interest in acting participated throughout his school years
and he participated in community theatre and summer stock. He chose to study at
the University of Washington and spent 6 months at the Edinburgh Festival in Scotland.
His commercial debut was made in a beer commercial in 1979 for Michelob, he has also
more recently done a beer commercial for Miller Lite.
Richard has done a great deal of theatre during his career... regional theatre including
"The Miser", off-Broadway productions of "Losing It" and "The Other Shore",
and in a Broadway production of "Me & My Girl" and a role in "Our Father".
Richard made his prime-time TV debut with a minor role in "Carol and Company".
He had roles in the films "Desperately Seeking Susan" and "House of Games",
unfortunately all of his scenes in both movies hit the cutting room floor.
Recently he has had a role in an ABC Afterschool Special ("Boys Will Be Boys") and worked
this summer filming "Picture Perfect" (formerly "Enemy Camp") a TV movie for ABC [shown October 14, 1995]. He
has also made a guest appearance as an animal control officer on "Boy Meets World". He will be
hosting a special called "Chariot of the Gods on ABC and one called "The Secrets of the Internet" on The Discovery Channel.
Richard is an avid golfer (20 handicap) and is involved with The Wayne Dalton/Richard Karn Golf Classic,
an annual celebrity golf tournament which earned $40,000 in 1994 for Cancer Research.
Richard is married to singer/actress Tudi Riche and has a young son named
Cooper (who has already made a brief guest appearance in the HI episode
"I Was A Teenage Taylor").
